Prayer of a Wife

Love of my Life

Dear Lord,

Grant me the grace to be more patient:
when children are misbehaving,
and food is not eaten.
when the budget is short
and all bills are always rising.

When my husband is busy
and he tends to forget our anniversary

When laundries are piled up
and I have no time for myself

When household chores tend
to be routinary and I feel I am a robot.

I don’t ask you lord, that I may be appreciated.
I don;t work that I may be praised;
nor do I complain or seek comfort.

What I ask of you is to grant me
the grace to be more persevering.

Because I will do these things again
just to give the best to my children.

Let all these household duties be
the expressions of my all encompassing
concern for them.

Let everything I do be a sign of my devotion
to all entrusted to my care.

Let everyday schedules not quench my
desire to serve my loved one.

Grant me the grace Lord, to be more
patient that I may continue to be a
faithful, and ever loving wife,
a committed and caring mother.

May I continue to express my love
through my works, as food is cooked.
And table is set, clothes are washed
and ready to wear, and house is clean.

Grant me the grace to control my temper.
I must always be there to listen to their
stories, accompany my husband
in his problems
to provide for their needs and ease
their pains.

Grant me the grace that I may be
a forever loving mother,
forever a faithful wife.
a true friend and a loyal companion
to my husband and children,
whom I most cherish and love,
and whom I consider your most precious gift.

SHINE: Mary D.

Mary D. is the author of the fantastic (with perfect web traffic) that already appeared in several glosses all over the world, very influential and well known in her Make-up Monday and detailed review on beauty products. I have known her from Imee Li through Twitter, since then her blog became my daily dose of my everyday read 🙂

I am a beauty junkie currently residing in Toronto, Canada. My obsession with makeup and skincare started at a very young age and was, for better or worse, nurtured by my like-minded aunts.

I’d have to say that of the two (makeup and skincare), skincare is my passion for I truly believe that good skin is the best canvas for makeup. I obsess day in and day out about sun exposure and sunblock/sunscreen much to the chagrin of my loving bf. And I know I’ll sound like a broken record, but it really is so important to take care of your skin. Prevention is a million times better than correction.

This blog allows me to write about my obsession as well as share tips and information with other beauty junkies out there. Also, it helps ease the my bf’s pain from having to hear me talk about it 24/7 haha 🙂

Moving on, those are the products that I use on my face. I am constantly changing my skincare products because I find that my skin plateaus no matter how good one product is. That said, there are still a few mainstays in my routine that I’ll get even if it’ll go untouched for at least a couple of weeks.

Every morning I use Cetaphil or just plain ol’ water to cleanse my face — it really depends on how lazy I am feeling that morning. While my skin is still damp, I immediately apply one pump of Lancôme’s Génifique serum and allow it to sink in. Of course, moisturizer and eye cream follow. Right now I alternate between my beloved Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream and a couple of oils. My current favourite skin oil is a toss up between the Argan Oil and Avocado Oil. Coconut Oil takes second place and Sweet Almond Oil takes last place just because it is SO damn– I mean darn! (ahem, Doug/Polly/Maddy’s mom, ahem)– thick.

I never let too much time pass before applying sunscreen (a must even on dark and cloudy days!) because I find that my skin doesn’t feel so dry after. Lancôme’s Bienfait UV SPF 50 and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock SPF 70 are what I use to protect my skin from the sun, but I have to say that Neutrogena is WAY better. It feels lighter on the skin and on the wallet at only US $10 a pop!

At night, I use Shu Uemura’s Cleansing Oil to take off all the gunk and environmental pollution that have accumulated on my skin, but I have also tried using natural oils and, truthfully, there really isn’t much of a difference, except the former costs 1 million times more! Well, ok, not really, but you get the idea. Every few nights or so, I exfoliate with Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion.

I will sometimes use Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion if I feel like my skin needs a little more cleaning. Then, I apply some Génifique again and follow it with either Kiehl’s, or an oil. When I feel like being wild, I use Weleda’s Wild Rose Night Smoothing Cream. Ha, get it?!

The Proust Questionnaire

While preparing my new shine entry, I stumble upon at my friend’s blog as published in facebook newsfeed ( My Nocturnal Journal ) and her entry about The Proust Questionnaire got my attention. The questions are thought-provoking kind and I miss answering questions like that 🙂

The result made me laugh and kinda proud *swag*, why?

Let’s start with the *swag* result 🙂

Karl Lagerfield and Johnny Cash

Karl Lagerfield is a well know high end designer, sosyal… I answer 98.15% like him, wow… I wonder how it feels like to have a conversation with him. Next is Johnny Cash who was an was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and author, who has been called one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.

So, tell me a Designer and a Musician?

Quincy Jones and Oscar de la Renta

and this:

A Hugh Hefner in me!

That made me laugh 🙂 or it was just my green brain functioning? I wish I have more “Audrey Hepburn” persona result ha ha! As much I would love to share you my answer, I totally unsaved it 🙂

Oh well, that leaves you what answers I gave to have such results LOL

Try it, it’s fun: VANITY FAIR The Proust Questionnaire

I have a lot of gay friends and i love them to bits… they have the passion in most beautiful things without hesitation. Most of them live life to the fullest and respectfully on the top of their games. From covers of the magazine, corporate world and all that jazz… they’re simply inspiring. I hope in our country, like New York, will embrace the legalization of gay marriage.

President Obama is so right! that gay couples deserves same rights as all, I can cry right now for happiness 🙂 i heard a lot of heart breaking stories from gay friends that wants to be together legally and somewhat celebrating their fruitful love in small ceremonies out of town just to hide from mundane world that judges quickly. I strongly believe in true love and now, just like the empire state building…

(pic. not mine) Saw this at twitter during the celebration at New York 🙂

speechless! wonderful. bravo!

That empire state building made me crave for cake! but...

I just ate couple of scoops of that sinful ice cream! 🙂

Bed Weather + Lingerie Shopping + Coke-Free

Bed Weather

I just love the weather today 🙂 turned on the surround sounds with Olivia Ong’s music, added the cold temperature of ac and I am floating to heaven. The healthiest sleep I had so far in past few weeks. Rainy season will not stop me by hitting the gym, I am so happy that I have progress but it will be visible after a month or two IF followed by more strict diet and good schedule at the gym 🙂 gawd, I am becoming a bit of anti-social LOL, I just can’t say no to an invitation from a friend who wants someone to talk-to, all I need to do is find a healthy food or drink in substitute for what I usually put inside my body that makes me oh-so-fat. I just want to be healthy so badly aside from vanity reasons.

Lingerie Shopping

Even if, it’s signal number one! I had a little shopping at People are People since its mid year sale! The lingerie section made me stop and go gaga over with 🙂 I am a sucker for Lingerie. I will never have enough of it. My mom once told me, a girl should have a bazillion of lingerie, for hygienic and more famine reasons. I feel sexy and ready to go outside the world when I know I have beautiful lingerie beneath my clothes even inside our home. Aside from a beauty junkie that I am, Lingerie and bags makes me oh-so weak… I am just so happy to buy myself any of those. Moving on…

from Sophie B. lingerie line (SALE! fromm Php 1,000++ steal: Php 299.00)

Actually I am a La Senza, Agent Provocateur and Bench fan because of its quality and design. It really compliments my skin and curves, I swear on those brands hail to them! So, this is my first time to buy a Lingerie under Sophie B. (wow my name) I love the “sando” type of brassiere. I don’t know how do you call it, but I am sucker of layering and usually lingerie like this is awesomesauce to my skin, it feels right or maybe I just feel sexy with them haha! Whatever, it makes me feel good! That’s it 🙂 life is to short to wear undies with hole and patches of stitches! let go of that crap hahaha!!!

I fell in love with details

I am a sucker for details, it has a nice lace with glittery effect 🙂 you won’t even notice it when I layered this to an ordinary shirt while shopping! Tamang tama sa weather, may reason para magdoble doble ng damit haha! palusot… It is just so pretty plus the fact how it compliments my curves.

Sexy strap 🙂

Everything is perfect, so why would I think twice before buying these pretty little things? If there’s more color, I’ll hoard it but since it’s mid year sale… gah perhaps somebody already bought it because what I got was the last stock boo hoo, so I bought the two and some v-neck shirts (I seldom use round tee) Oh, I love what I bought today. Infatuated.

Coke Free

WTF? I know it has an affect on our health, but what can I do? It’s a vice that is something I need to let go sooner? duh. I don’t know. Upon lurking at facebook I saw this COKE-FREE NEGROS It’s about Coca-Cola is boycotting Negros sugar. And it is killing the sugar industry and Negros economy. It is high time now that Negros BOYCOTTS COKE and all COCA-COLA products.

it’s Mission:

Let us show the world that Negrenses will never allow smugglers to continue laughing on and fooling us. It is now time to unite and bring back the pride that have made us a great people.
Make yourself a Coke-free person.
Make your home a Coke-free home.
Make your community a Coke-free community.

My two-cents:

Whatever the country must do- I’ll support, but COKE-FREE? If that happens in Quezon City… I’ll cry my self to sleep and mourn LOL 🙂

Happy week-ehead. Make love not war! Enjoy 🙂

Don’t buy lingerie to impress your man, buy it for yourself… It’s like saying “I love me” yun lang. ktnxbye!

I am a Woman

I’ve been dealing a lot of things lately and I rely so much with the music that can really lift the happy spirits 🙂

Who Run the World

My Ipod, so as my Blackberry has a lot of girl power songs, particularly from Beyonce Knowles and Katy Perry. Oh boy I love them!

Moving on, I’ve been splurging a lot for skin care, healthy food which I think kinda expensive (aminin) and needs more a lot of imagination while hitting the treadmill. I am now shifting for an hour at that magical machine. It took me a little while to even finish 15 minutes but now I can finish straight 45 minutes on that boring machine…

I can do this! for now just enjoy the video…

MAN: ‘What can you bring to the table?’

I am worth it.

In a brief conversation, a man, speaking to a woman, was out to pursue the question, “What kind of man are you looking for?”

She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye and asked, “Do you really want to know?”
Reluctantly, he said, “Yes” as she began to expound…

“As a woman in this day and age, I am in a position to ask a man what he can do for me that I can’t do for myself.

I pay my own bills.

I take care of my household without the help of any man- or woman for that matter. I am in the position to ask, ‘What can you bring to the table?'”

The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money.

She quickly corrected his thought and stated, “I am not referring to money… I need something more. I need a man who is striving for perfection in every aspect of life.”

He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, and asked her to explain.

She said,

“I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection Mentally. I need conversation and mental stimulation. I don’t need a simple-minded man.

I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection Spiritually because I don’t need to be unequally yoked… Believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for disaster.

I need a man who is striving for perfection Financially because I don’t need a financial… burden.

I am looking for someone who is Sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but Strong enough to keep me grounded.

I am looking for someone who I can Respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him. I cannot be submissive to a man who isn’t taking care of his business. I have no problem being submissive… He just has to be worthy.

God made woman to be a helpmate for man. At this point, I can’t help a man if he can’t help himself.”

When she finished her spill, she looked at him. He sat there with a puzzled look on his face, and exclaimed, “You’re asking for a whole lot!”

To which she gracefully replied…

“Only if you think I’m not WORTH a lot.” 🙂
