One Day

A poem I wrote way back, June 09, 2008.

*****

One day, I saw a dazzling light Shining down on me

It was astonishing but I can’t remember exactly what it looks like

The next thing I knew, I am seeing color of flesh

A color of flesh that I will never forget until the final day of my life;

Because those are the colors of the one who loves me most

on my first day on earth…

My Parents.

One day, I saw little things with charming colors;

It was amusing and makes my time fly…

My toys.

One day I saw a bright smile and someone asked my name;

We exchanged laughter and shared colorful fantasies…

She became a friend.

My Friend.

One day, I saw a beautiful colored board

Where I learned how to use all the letters that I am using right now;

It was my first day at School.

One day, I saw the town painted in Red;

It was full of hearts and the feeling is great

Where all I can see is exquisiteness in world that surrounds me;

I am in love.

And then

One day, I reflected 23 years of my life…

I have not yet seen all the colors and patiently waiting for what colors

Of life awaits me.

But I am afraid that…

One day, I will see nothing but life has fade away

And colors are no longer there…

Ten Blogging Commandments

I want to share to you one of my blog entries way back (October 14, 2008) to be exact, lifted from my multiply account 🙂

*****

“It is essential that Christians make the most of it because we believe we have good news that is as relevant to those in cyberspace as it is for those in real space.”

Ten commandments for bloggers

1 You shall not put your blog before your integrity

2 You shall not make an idol of your blog

3 You shall not misuse your screen name by using your anonymity to sin

4 Remember the Sabbath day by taking one day off a week from your blog

5 Honour your fellow-bloggers above yourselves and do not give undue significance to their mistakes

6 You shall not murder someone else’s honour, reputation or feelings

7 You shall not use the web to commit or permit adultery in your mind

8 You shall not steal another person’s content

9 You shall not give false testimony against your fellow-blogger

10 You shall not covet your neighbour’s blog ranking. Be content with your own content.

my take:

In this world of fast-track technology and almost virtual anonymity in cyber space, we should always remember not only our manners and right conduct but also our humanity.

Amen!

Shoes 101: to find shoes easily!

Hi everyone!

I always believe in the saying that “Beautiful Shoes will take you to beautiful places” as heard in one of my favorites: Meteor Garden. Since then, I only invest with good pairs. I don’t just buy shoes or anything (except for beauty products) to see them piling up and rot. I always go for the quality, style and compliments my skin! that’ why I make sure that every thing that I have is well kept. Every week, I check my things to make sure its free from dust.

My husband and I shares a life size shoe rack and organized according to his and hers to make life easier 🙂 but mine was a bit detailed.

Shoe box with picture!

I must admit, I don’t memorize all the shoes I have!  some of ’em have came from the same store which means, similar boxes. It always gives me a hard time to find the one that I like to use and it takes time to find it, since I have look what’s inside the box and after that my mood is ruined. So, I took time to take photos of my shoes and attached it on the box where I can easily see it.

I just need to see the style and color of the shoes I want to use and that’s it *hassle-free*. I am a self-confessed high heels lover and got few flats when my feet needs rest 🙂 Anyway, it take me a while to finish organizing our shoe rack. I suggested to husband that I’ll do the same in his shoe collection but he refused since he loves looking around *le sigh. Things is much easier this way, sofie’e way 😀

P.S.

I love organized things, even our closet has the same color of hangers (Black) and clothes are folded according to color and all pantay-pantay!

Flirty Lashes

Hi everyone!

One of the natural beauty weapons of a woman is her eye lashes and not everyone is blessed with thick and long lashes like me. As they say, long lashes makes our eyes looks bigger and attractive especially with added mascara 🙂

I always love having flirty eyes and god knows how many mascara’s and other eyelashes products I tried just to make my eyelashes grow thicker and longer… I just gave up and bought few fake eyelashes at the Face Shop which only cost me Php 115.00 each with different styles. It’s a steal 🙂 it also comes with glue, so no need to buy separately.

SMISE! (smile with your eyes 🙂 )

In picture above, I’m using false lashes 🙂 It looks natural in personal and doesn’t feel  heavy. False lashes are made of Synthetic single fiber polyester thread-like materials or natural hair which I think is much expensive and haven’t tried it yet, but the thought of it scares me tho’

How to apply false eyelashes

1)     Most lashes are wider than your eyes, so make sure to trim the lash from the sides one hair at a time to make it more natural.

2)      Apply the glue along the base of lashes using a stick or make-up brush.

3)     Pick up the lash by using a tweezers or simply using your clean fingers and bring it as close to your lash line as possible.

4)      Slightly press the false lashes from end to end using a make up brush or your finger to make sure it doesn’t slip.

5)       Apply Mascara to bond the false eyelashes with the natural ones to give more natural look.

6)      Lastly, apply liquid eyeliner to fill any gap between false lashes and natural ones. ( I love using E.L.F. liquid eyeliner)

I highly recommend The Face Shop False Eyelashes available in Trinoma, SM North etc.

Makeup: When to LET GO!

Hi everyone!

Let Go, when you have to. Expired na eh?! 🙂

It’s been my guilty pleasure to check my social network sites through apple from the moment I wake up, pero sympre titingnan ko muna yung husband ko sa tabi ko, say a little prayer, check the time tapos kakapain ko na sa bed kung nasan na ang mga gadgets 🙂 Oo, natutulog akong katabi ang cellphone! ewan ko ba?!

After my morning rituals, I am all set to surf the net, news and beauty blogs! That will be the start of my vice, listing the stuff that I want to buy. But then, I am learning not to hoard anymore! Nasasayang…. unless it’s a makeup tool.

There are a lot of cult favorites everywhere but I only collect the one that I can use. Actually, even how cute the packaging of a makeup, when it expires… we need to let go of them unless you can still use the container and replace new product.

When to “LET GO”

Lipstick

Some beauty experts says 1 to 2 years, even 4 years when stored in refrigerator. Best move, smell the old tube and when it smells rancid… TOSS IT!

Lipglosses/chapsticks: 2 years

Powder eye shadow: 2 years

Cream eye shadow: 12-18 months

Mascara: 3 months

Powder blush: 2 years

Cream blush: 6 months

Oil-free foundation: 12 months

Cream foundation: 18 months

Concealer: 12-18 Months

Lotions: 2 years

IF YOU WANT, OC-ness strikes! try to make it a habit of labeling your beauty products from the day you use it! So, you’ll know kung gaano na katanda ang mga beauty weapon niyo 🙂 Hindi display ang makeup, ginagamit po yan. ktnxbye!

Classe Nail Salon

It’s up to you if you want to die, ugly.

Hi everyone!

Last Monday, I went to visit my Grandma who cooked delicious lunch for me… after our girl bonding, I went to the Nail Spa, that my sister is raving about. As a spa lover, whether it is a small one or not- gow ako diyan.

Nail Polish

The nail spa can accommodate (4) four people at a time!

* Comfortable seats with (2) throw pillows

* AC!

* Updated Magazines

* Relaxing sounds (feel na feel ang pagka-girl)

* Everything is Purple! Curtains, Seats… etc! bet ko, favorite ng owner itech.

* Friendly Staff

They offer quality service and not to forget, super affordable! Manicure (Php 60.00) Pedicure (Php 70.00) San ka pa? They are also using Orly, Maybelline,  Rimmel to name a few, maloloka na talaga ako kung may Chanel pa! haha 🙂 Since I already had my nails done over the week end, I tried:

Bleaching

My very first bleaching for legs. Since they don’t have private room yet, I opt for legs na lang… its gonna be messy pag buo, although they’re offering it… next time na lang pag big na yung place. I fell asleep totoo lang, lamig kasi plus I love pampering my self! I can stay at the SPA for one whole day even a week or a month, doing nothing but relaxing with massages and other spa services! I swear.

I only pay for Php100.00 for bleaching! not bad at all. Babalik ba ako? Oo naman, 3 minutes away lang sa house namin… 1 minute pag nag car ka! Bonga!
