Going Healthy

As they say, it takes 21 days to make a “habit” like including jogging in your lifestyle. In my case, due to over weight issues and God knows I am tired of hearing “Are you preggy” which I am currently, not! I decided to hit the gym last week and will make sure it will be part of my life forever.

Instead driving my way to the gym, my HS bestfriend, Amiel patiently goes with me for a 30 minute walk on the way to paradise! (I am blessed with friends) to make the story short, I lost 2 pounds in 5 days. It’s not a miracle! I always push my self to hit the gym, discipline my sugar intake!!! so help me god πŸ™‚ and I am trying so hard to avoid coke or any soda which I failed to do so! hence, my rice intake was reduced and being a food junkie, I also try to control!

Moving on, I am long way to go pa! So, as far as controling and discipline is concern… I am also preparing healthy dishes right now and today’s recipe: Macaroni in red sauce.

Elbow Macaroni

I used the “tantsa” method πŸ™‚ I am not an health expert or a master chef but I can cook an edible food πŸ™‚ This serving is good for 2-3 person who is on diet according to me LOL

Olive Oil

I love using olive oil, it is much healthier than regular cooking oil out there.

Tomato

I will go overload with tomato here because it’s healthy for skin (note: take all the seeds out, it’s bad to our body according to my trip at the human body museum “MYTH of the Human Body exhibit”) and since I am reducing my red meat intake, I opt not to put any kind on my featured dish. The beef broth cube will do the trick!
I am trying my best to avoid pork and beef! I know right?! vegan?! don’t think so πŸ™‚

Paminta, Spaghetti Sauce and Beef cube

Paminta, spaghetti sauce and beef broth cube will suffice to have a fine taste!

Boil the elbow macaroni (tantsa method πŸ™‚ )

Put the olive oil with it, so it won’t stick together, it’s up to you if you’ll add salt.. as for me. No πŸ™‚

Simmer tomato in beef broth cube, add tomato sauce & paminta (tansta methong πŸ™‚ )

Actually it’s not the way I used to cook pasta, it’s much yummier and full of ingredients! but I am in a so-called-strict- DIET! whew πŸ™‚ this will have to do!

Done and don't put cheese πŸ™‚

Ta-dah! enjoy it without cheese πŸ™‚ You will surely love the strong taste of tomato, it’s yummy! remember: it’s for the skin and healthier body.

There is a day when you are in a diet mode called “Cheat Day” feast yourself with favorite food you love without the guilt… cheat day!

Gym Factor!

I have this on and off relationship with the “gym”.

Way back 2007 I worshiped it for 4 months straight together with strict diet and said goodbye to 20 pounds… (I gained 15 pounds in 3 years yikes!)

Then again I started to get addicted to gym just this month! (July 2010) Why? because I have to! haha. I am trying big time here so I can have a normal diet that can be forever. Unfortunately I still need to let go some junk foods like Cheetos and Coke!Β  plus Mc Donald meals! geesh it’s hard as hell. I only lost 3 pounds right now and I am beginning to think I am a hopeless case! hahaha kidding aside! πŸ™‚

My Gym friends!

Moving on, when it comes to gym clothes I am not really picky. As long as I am using sports bra, NIKE gloves, towel and my music player I am all good. I am much comfortable using big T-shirts when I work out…

I feel much bigger when I am using one… it makes me feel go for the gold! πŸ™‚ I have a lot of gym-leggings because I want to torture my self by seeing those big thighs! geesh. I love ’em but it’s too big hahaha!

I go at the gym during lunch time or after work but when I am crazy enough, I occupy both time available and it works. That was my routine way back in college. I play badminton after school then go to gym for some strength and more Cardio activities. I even ate like a bird that time which right now I am trying to bring that back… Now, don’t get me wrong. I have a balance meal… I am not the type of person who starve herself to death! it’s a big no-no. There’s always a solution to cravings!

I have a sweet tooth and chocolates are my weakness! When I crave for one, I take a bite but not finish the whole thing. I just have to taste it and I m done. It works for me plus I take multi-vitamins and even bought alkaline water purifier for water therapy. My dietitian said, water therapy is nothing if you just take plain water… it’s effective πŸ™‚

Right now I can’tΒ  let go the wonderful RICE! I tend to eat 1-2 cups daily… I don’t want to crash diet! it’s bad for the health! I have a nice meal set each day, although I don’t eat anymore during lunch time, all I take is Starbucks’ TAZO in Mango. I am addicted to it I swear! then I have a little salad packed with me everyday to munch on instead buying at Mini-Stop for junkies πŸ™‚

I am positive that I can do this in no time… Discipline and Determination is all I need. I am also trying to understand the art of eating so I won’t obsess anymore with lotsa fine dining experience or even if I do, I’ll think what food to order as a fuel to my body… so I am thinking to feed my self properly in most healthy way πŸ™‚ who wants to put a wrong fuel in their beloved car anyway? πŸ™‚

I am just happy that my bf is supportive and everyone who surrounds me! I think having a cheering squad for your goal is a great thing too! I even have a mantra for my everyday agenda πŸ™‚

So all you dieters out there, we can do this! You don’t have to enroll with a pricey gym or join a classy-group to shed those nasty extra pounds. Just your positive thinking alone and putting your words into action will go for the win! Good Luck and stay healthy πŸ™‚

I heardΒ it first or lemme say I read about this Sassy Water from Jackie’s Twitter (schoolmate & friend) Since then I can’t stop thinking about it! so busy during those days so I don’t have timeΒ  to do it. Now I have all the time in the world… I even recognized the wonderful sunset on my way home! whoa.

Anyway it is so easy to do… here’s the recipe:

2 liters water (about 8 1/2 cups)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1 medium cucumber. peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium lemon thinly sliced
12 small spearmint leaves

So, as seen from pictures provided by wonder google! I just chopped the ingredients and count 12 pcs of spearmint leaves… mixed it with mineral water and ta-dah! straight from the refrigerator and wait until tomorrow πŸ™‚

Well honestly as I smelled the ginger… the thought of drinking it makes me *(&^$ I know word! but what the… it’s for my own good! atleast it’s natural and made me stop buying some chinese fat burners! (not closing doors anyway!) πŸ™‚

So all I have to do is just wait for tomorrow and will update you about this SASSY thang! πŸ™‚

(Hokay, I cut my family ties with some sugar products, too much carbs, too much junkfood Β and 3 cups of rice a day!)
